Lakeshore Swimming Pool Association (LSPA) is a private, community focused swimming pool located in Kingston's west end. Owned by its members and operated by a volunteer Board of Directors, LSPA has been offering first class outdoor aquatic activities since 1971. Following more than 40 years of service, the swimming pool was closed for some much-needed renovations, completed by Acapulco Pools.

Lakeshore Swimming Pool Association before renovations

LSPA officially reopened to the public in the summer of 2015. After mechanical room and pool tank renovations, the facility was completely transformed. During the off season, the pool was outfitted with a new mechanical room, pump and filtration system, the piping was updated and the pool was blasted, painted and coated. A new concrete deck was installed, as well as two new diving boards and a small water slide. To complete the transformation of this outdoor aquatic facility, concrete coping was installed giving the facility a sleek final touch. Since opening, the LSPA continues to be a benchmark of the local community.

Lakeshore Swimming Pool Association after renovations

Understanding that the (over) 40-year-old pool wouldn't last forever, the board of directors began raising money for repairs before the pool began to degrade. The LSPA implemented the Acapulco Tile Fundraiser to assist in fundraising efforts. This initiative was introduced to encourage members to donate and take part in the renovation of this already popular swimming pool. The program was a success, helping the community to achieve their goals for the aquatic facility while also allowing members to become a part of the history of the facility. Names are now permanently displayed throughout the pool’s waterline tile border.
